I went to the movies on friday to see Astro boy opening night... i have now garnered an unhealthy obsession with anything astro. i went to the bookstore and read some of the manga (didn't have enough money to but it) and then promptly went home and watched 8 of the 2003 series episodes. something about the show just makes me incredibly giddy. i cant say the movie was awsome and a sure to be next greatest hit like harry potter (i hate the hp movies) or watchmen, but i enjoyed it immensely. although toby (tobio/astro/atom) looks gay without a shirt on, he is freaking adorable. unfortunately, because the anime was first created in the 1960-1950's (i think) it's fan-base is pathetically small. i mean, come on! astro boy was the first show to have all the defining characteristics of a present day anime. i have all this giddy energy because of the show and i cant do anything to entertain myself. normally i'd read fanfiction obsessively until it passes, but again, because of the small fan-base, i cant read myself into a astro induced stupor. D: i cant tell wheather i love or hate Dr.Tenma,O'Shay and the detective bug me, and the kids in the show are complete brats. oh, and astro's english dubbed voice in the 2003 series is one of the most obnoxious things i have ever heard (besides maybe naruto's and luffy's dub)

(my computer is freezing a lot and i cant watch anymore episodes because of it. i need to see if i can upload some of the ep's to my ipod and maybe buy the movie and watch it compulsively.)- is ranting
